Custom Data Request ID/Name: USFS_Modeling_USF0R093_10_2023

Organization/Individual Requesting Data: The United States Forest Service (USFS) is a federal agency with the mission to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of the Nation's forests and grasslands to meet the needs of the present and future generations.

Purpose: Under this Forest Service project, NatureServe is obligated to deliver up to 275 precise models to the Forest Service for internal use, with public versions available per the data sharing rules set by each program in the NatureServe Explorer Data Provider Portal. Attached are the species lists for the “Existing Models” (previously developed and reviewed models) and “New Models” (new models to be developed under this project).

Scope of Data:   Delivery of 18 existing Species Habitat Models, and the development and provision of ~275 new Species Habitat Models that are Forest Service priority species within the United States.

Mode of Delivery: The models will be published and available to a licensed user group on the Explorer Pro interface.  The licensed users are also able to download the native resolution SHMs using the NatureServe Explorer geodata portal (as raster or vector files). Note that individuals accessing these models must review the data use license terms (which prohibit sharing native resolution models externally). Clients can share scaled up versions of the models that adhere to the public data sharing rules defined by the Network Programs in the Data Provider Portal.

Data Users: Data Users must complete NatureServe’s Data Use Training and review their organization’s Data License Agreement terms.
