Custom Data Request ID/Name: BLM_BLM0F090_10_2023

Organization/Individual Requesting Data:  The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is requesting a refresh of precise Element Occurrence (EO), source features, and habitat model data for all taxa with a listed status or ranked by NatureServe as imperiled or critically imperiled (G1 or G2) for states in the west, including Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, New Mexico, Navajo Nation lands, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

Purpose: The BLM will use the Licensed Dataset to assess at-risk plants and animals on and around BLM lands.  The use of the Licensed Data will allow the Licensee to quickly determine where BLM Special Status Species occur at varying landscape scales not limited to state, field, or district boundaries. This standardized data will provide efficiencies in national and regional inquiries, both internal and external, regarding BLM's habitat management role for sensitive species. Access to the clients’ unique Licensed Dataset requires a unique password for each Certified Data User. Certified Data Users must complete NatureServe’s Data Use Training and review their organization’s Data License Agreement terms.

Scope of Data:

Precise location data for all taxa with a status under the U.S. Endangered Species Act, included on the BLM special status list, and/or ranked by NatureServe as imperiled or critically imperiled (G1-G2) for western states listed above.

Mode and Date of Delivery:

The Licensed Dataset (species EOs, SFs, and models defined above) was provided to BLM via NatureServe’s secure password protected Explorer Pro mapping tool, and via the Explorer Pro geodata portal.  It was published on November 17, 2023.
