Description
Duke Energy’s Natural Resources Group has developed a Natural Resources Viewer internal mapping program for all protected species and protected lands in cooperation and partnership with state and federal agency biologists. Regulatory compliance is a top priority for Duke Energy and knowing and understanding the specific occurrences to assign Best Management Practices (BMPs) is very important to the success of the company. Limited datasets or data limited occurrences make it challenging, if not impossible to try to assign BMPs to an occurrence or location. Duke Energy has met with USFWS Biologist and leaders in each of our service territories (FL, SC, NC, TN, IN, KY, OH) and have full support in our mission with our Natural Resources Viewer. Duke Energy is requesting the most precise data available to be in full compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements.
